How it all got started
Explore, create and dream are three words God laid on my heart back in 2014 before asking me to step out in faith and move to New York City, one of my biggest adventures to date. Each of these words inspired me and together they felt like a motto for things to come so, I created this blog to capture all that would happen on the journey. Maybe you know the next part…I didn’t write very often. Yes, there was plenty to capture but I just didn’t have the full vision yet and it was definitely a learning season. My five years in NYC started laying a foundation for why this blog existed and what I was supposed to say on it. Then in November of 2018 I went on a mission trip to Cambodia. While on that trip God asked me to step out in faith again. Three months later I was living in Siem Reap, Cambodia. I found myself in another learning season just as I was starting to get the hang of things in NYC (BTW, it’s true…“if you can make it there…😳”). But this new adventure was another layer of what it meant for me to explore, create and dream. Now, almost two years later I’m still here on an adventure that is both the hardest and most beautiful I’ve ever had. Finally, almost seven years after the words were spoken I feel like maybe I know what I’m supposed to do with this blog. It’s to help you find your faith and courage to step into your own unique adventure that God has for you. The truth is these words will mean something different to each of us and that’s the best part. I realized that it’s not about the individual words but the idea that we all have a desire to go beyond our limits, to make something wonderful with our lives, and never stop learning.
